ABOUT THE PROJECT

STEMpoderate is a woman supporting woman project. Our project is based in El Salvador, Central America, where less than 30% of STEM graduates are female and over 52% of youth in rural areas of the country drop out of high school yearly. This is why, the project targets the girls from eighth to eleventh grade with the aim of motivating them to stay in school and pursue their dream futures regardless of their current circumstances. The project also works on breaking down stereotypes surrounding male dominated careers and introducing underprivileged girls to the world of STEM.
